WALT DISNEY'S THOUGHTS:

Yes even Disney had his own thoughts about Fantasia. This is what he said;

Fantasia is timeless. It may run 10, 20, or 30 years. It may run after I'm gone. Fantasia is an idea in itself. I can never build another Fantasia. I can improve. I can elaborate. That's all.

The Jazz Singer (1927)

The Jazz Singer is a 1927 film that is the 1st (AND I MEAN THE 1ST!) feature-length movie with synchronized dialogue, or "talkie", as they call it. In 1928, it was nominated for an Oscar for Best Writing, Adaptation (Alfred A. Cohn), but it won an Honorary Award for WB (you all know what it stands for) for producing The Jazz Singer, the pioneer outstanding talking picture, which has revolutionized the industry, then, in 1996, it won a National Film Registry award. It was produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, directed by Alan Crosland, written by Samson Raphaelson, Jack Jarmuth, and Alfred A. Cohn, and stars Al Jolson (Jakie Rabinowitz), May McAvoy (Mary Dale), Warner Oland (Cantor Rabinowitz), and Cantor Joseff Rosenblatt (Himself-Concert Recital). This film has been Unrated, though it would earn a G-rating. I would give this movie 97 stars.

Alpha and Omega in 3-D

Alpha and Omega in 3-D is a 2010 CGI film that's based on a story by Steve Moore. Sadly, Dennis Hopper (who, BTW plays Tony) died shortly afterward, so the film was dedicated in his name. It was produced by Ken Katsumoto, Steve Moore, Richard Rich, Timothy Yoo, Noah Fogelson, A. K. Madhavan, Michael Paseornek, Seemha Ramanna, & Priyank Raj, directed by Ben Gluck & Anthony Bell, written by Chris Denk & (DUH!) Steve Moore, & stars the voice talents of Justin Long (Humphrey), Hayden Panettiere (Kate), Christina Ricci (Lilly), Dennis Hopper, Danny Glover (Winston), Chris Carmack (Garth), Larry Miller (Marcel), & Eric Price (Paddy/Mooch). This film has been rated PG for rude humor and some mild action (MPAA/USA [certificate #45887]), PG (Canadian English), and G (Canadian French), although it should've been rated PG-13 for rude humor, mild language, scary action, some suggestive content, and a brief drug reference. I would give this movie 69% of a star.

Meet the Robinsons in 3-D

Meet the Robinsons is a 2007 CGI film that is Disney's 47th animated film & based on William Joyce's children's picture book A Day with Wilbur Robinson. The film was, at first, going to be made in live-action, keep the book's name, and be released (somewhere) in 2006, but that changed since 60% of the movie was, well, changed. It was produced by Dorothy McKim, Bill Borden, David J. Steinberg, Makul Wigert, Monica Lago-Kaytis, Clark Spencer, John Lasseter, & (GET THIS!), William Joyce, directed by Stephen John Anderson, written by Don Hall, Aurian Redson, Jon Bernstein, Michelle Bochner, Nathan Greno, Joseph Mateo, Stephen John Anderson, Robert L. Baird, Daniel Gerson, & Shirly Pierce, & stars the voice talents of Daniel Hansen & Jordan Fry (Lewis), Wesley Singerman (Wilbur Robinson), Paul Butcher (Stanley Pukowski), Stephen John Anderson (Bowler Hat Guy/Grandpa Bud Robinson/Tallulah Robinson), Aurian Redson (Frankie), & Tom Selleck (Cornelius Robinson). This film has been rated G in both the USA & in Canada, although it should've been rated PG for some mild action. I would give this movie 99% of a star.

PLOT:

Lewis is a 12-year-old orphan whose dream is to find the mother he never knew, so he creates an invention he calls the Memory Scanner. But a person called the Bowler Hat Guy sabotages & steals it. A 13-year-old stranger named Wilbur Robinson takes Lewis to the future in a flying time machine, but after having an argument over him taking Lewis back to see his mom, the time machine crashes. They take it to the garage at Wilbur's house where Lewis meets "a real live robot", whose name is Carl & who goes up a travel-tube, screaming all the way! Then Wilbur, after slamming a fruit hat on Lewis's head to cover his hair, goes after Carl.

Okay now, the 2nd half of the movie is based on the book, so you probably can guess what happens next. There's also a surprise somewhere at the end of the movie. I don't want to give away the entire story.

MOVIE INFO:

Walt Disney Animation Studios. March 23, 2007. Adventure-Comedy-Science Fiction-Family. 095 min./color. DVD, BD; 2-D, 3-D.

THOUGHTS:

I think this movie is awesome because it tells you 4 things: never stop believing in yourself, don't give up, let go of the past, and, above all, KEEP MOVING FORWARD!

Super Rhino

Super Rhino is a 2009 CGI animated short, starring the characters from the Walt Disney feature film Bolt. It was produced by Clark Spencer, Makul Wigert, Byron Howard, John Lasseter, & Chris Williams, directed & written by Nathan Greno, & stars the voice talents of Mark Walton (Rhino) & Miley Cyrus (Penny). This short has been rated G (MPAA/USA). I would give this short 100% of a star.

PLOT:

Penny & Bolt have been captured by Dr. Calico (Malcolm McDowell), & are hanging over a lake of lava. Rhino, now genetically enhanced with superpowers, thanks to Penny's TV Dad (Sean Donnellan), races to Calico's lair to save them. There's a surprise ending in this short, one which I surely don't want to give away.

SHORT INFO:

Walt Disney Animation Studios. March 22, 2009 (with Bolt DVD & BD). Adventure-Comedy-Family. 04 min./color. USA.

THOUGHTS:

I think this short is cool because now, Bolt has another sidekick, besides Penny.

Bolt in 3-D

Bolt in 3-D is a 2008 CGI film that originally started out as a script by American film animator Chris Sanders, who, come to think of him, was slated as director; it was also originally titled American Dog. However, it was soon re scripted (as well as renamed) when Chris Williams & Byron Howard took over directorship. It was produced by Clark Spencer, Makul Wigert, & Pixar's John Lasseter, written by Dan Fogelman, Chris Williams, Byron Howard, & Jared Stern, & stars the voice talents of John Travolta (Bolt), Miley Cyrus (Penny), Cloe Grace Moretz (Young Penny), Mark Walton (Rhino), Susie Essman (Mittens), & Malcolm McDowell (Dr. Calico). This film has been rated PG for some mild action and peril (MPAA/USA [certificate #44841]), PG (Canadian English), G (Canadian French). I would give this movie 100% of a star.

PLOT:

Okay, I'm not going to give away the ENTIRE plot, so I'm just going to make a long story short: Bolt is a white German Shepard (notice his ears), who thinks that his own TV show is real. He winds up in NYC & gets help from a scrawny female cat (calico, perhaps?), Mittens (Susie Essman), who gets dragged across the country by him (almost literally). You can probably guess what happens next.

MOVIE INFO:

THOUGHTS:

I think this movie is great because it's really heartwarming & BE-AWESOME! (BTW, be-awesome comes from the movie.)

Know1ng: TV Series

Okay, strictly speaking, there is no plan to make this television series-yet. But don't you remember those numbers that Caleb was writing down just before John stopped him? Well, IMDb thinks that they are "presumably, a separate code of events for the new world." They could be right. Here's an idea of what the series might be like:

POSSIBLE PLOT:

Caleb Koestler & Abby Wayland arrive at the cloud-mountains, the homes of the whisper-people. They both have oodles of questions for them. The leader, named Ralph (I couldn't think of any other name!), has answers to almost all of them. One question that Caleb wants to know is why he wanted him to write down the new world code of events. Caleb pulls the 2nd list, now completed, out of his pants pocket. Ralph explains why he made him write it. Sometime later, a villain known as Ragnar (same thing as with Ralph), who wants to take over the planet by building an extremely powerful empire. It's up to Caleb, Abby, the whisper-people, & the other chosen children to put an end to his murderous empire-to-be. Oh, and, BTW, the children grow up throughout the series.

Pretty great, huh? Also, the spirits of John & Dianna may appear in the series as well. Just to let you all know.

THOUGHTS:

I think this is a good show to watch because it's more light-hearted than the movie is.

Treasure Planet Sequel and TV Series

We all know that Jim Hawkins was promoted to the Interstellar Academy... but what happens while he's there? Well, before Treasure Planet soared into cinemas, Thomas Schumacher, the president of Walt Disney Feature Animation, mentioned the possibilities of having direct-to-video releases for Treasure Planet, as well as a TV series. He simply stated:

We already have a story, some storyboards, concepts up, and a script for what a
sequel to [Treasure Planet] could be, and we also have a "notion" of what the
series would be.

Hhhmmm... perhaps he means that they're going to do a film adaptation of Treasure Planet: Battle at Procyon. If what I said is true, I hope they change the name to Treasure Planet: Battle of the Procyons, since no battle actually takes place at Procyon (except in the skirmish of the game), as noted in the game credits. If not, well, it can be a 3 part movie series with a TV series. Until it's greenlit that this can be true, only the future can tell us.
